Privacy Notice West of England Rent with Confidence Scheme

Bristol City Council is the data controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 and other regulations including the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), which means it determines what your personal data is used for and why it is collected. The purpose of this privacy notice is to tell you about how we collect and use personal data in connection with our service. What data we need to collect and use?

This notice covers the initial enquiry stage.  We will collect and use some or all of the personal information below collected in the enquiry form on the Rent with Confidence website:

This data is sent to the rent with confidence email address which is held by the landlord liaison officer at Bristol City Council.

Our legal bases for using your personal information is to exercise our tasks in the public interest.

How do we use your personal information?

This information is held and processed by the Landlord Liaison Officer and will only be used to answer queries or questions or provide information about the West of England Rent with Confidence scheme or to sign post you to contact any of the accreditation organisations involved in the Rent with Confidence Accreditation Scheme.

 

Who else might we share your personal information with?

As the data controller we are responsible for ensuring that we only collect and use the personal information necessary to provide you a service, or for our interaction you and to maintain the highest standards necessary to protect your personal information.  We will not share your personal information with any other organisation.

 

No personal information is routinely sent or held outside the UK.  Should the transfer of personal information outside the UK become necessary, it will only take place if permitted by law, and then only where there are appropriate safeguards in place to protect the data.

 

How long we will keep your personal information?

We will hold this information for as long as it is needed or we are required to do so by law.  In practice this means that your personal information may be retained for a 12 month period.  After thisyour personal information will be deleted.
